Weighted Blankets

The Ansley Foundation Weighted Blanket program was introduced in 2020 to the AFLAC Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at both the Scottish Rite and Egleston campuses. Each blanket is made in the USA and stitched with love. Blankets are washable, individually packaged, tagged from The Ansley Foundation and include an information insert.

Our Ansley Weighted Blanket program was born from Ansley’s desire for a weighted blanket when her health began to steadily decline. Unfortunately, she didn’t get her own weighted blanket prior to her passing however, we know there is nothing she would want more or be prouder of than providing that comfort to other patients battling childhood cancer.

It is our hope that recipients of an Ansley Weighted Blanket gain help and/or relief from anxiety, stress, restless leg syndrome, insomnia or just feel comforted by the softness and slight weight provided by the blanket.

Blankets come in a variety of patterns and several weight options.

Our model, Aubrey, is covered in comfort by her Ansley weighted blankets.

Since 2020, we have donated hundreds of blankets and many weighted animals for children being treated at Children’s Healthcare. Our blankets are now also available through the pediatric department at the Emory Proton Radiation/ Therapy Center in Atlanta.

Blankets are supplied at no charge to newly diagnosed patients and patients currently being treated for childhood cancer at Scottish Rite, Egleston or the Emory Proton Center and can be obtained through your AFLAC Child Life Specialist. We also encourage sponsoring a weighted blanket for inpatient children. To do so, please contact us at TheAnsleyFoundation@gmail.com

*Weighted blankets are not intended for use with toddlers or infants due to suffocation risks.*
